A Mother's Day Poem

After my son's late baseball practice tonight I had to run to CVS to pick up index cards for my teen-daughters study guide. Always busy, I couldn't wait to get home.

While my kids and I stood in the check-out line, surrounded by all of the Mother's Day trinkets, cards and flowers my daughter turned to me and said, 'That's right!! I will have to get you something for Mother's Day Mommy!'

Then she asked, 'So, what do you want?'

(I have a tradition on Mother's Day, I spend it with my children planting flowers and it's always made my heart happy.)

Smiling, I replied, 'Nothing-I have the Best Mother's Day gift already. You'.

I found this poem on the Internet (no name with it-it was just posted on a random Mother's Day Poem site).
It sums it up perfectly.

I don't need anything more for Mother's Day, I already have what I want...

The Gift of Motherhood Itself and the 3 Children that I have been blessed with.

Dear Lord, it's such a hectic day
With little time to stop and pray
For life's been anything but calm
Since You called on me to be a mom
Running errands, matching socks
Building dreams with building blocks
Cooking, cleaning, and finding shoes
And other stuff that children lose
Fitting lids on bottled bugs
Wiping tears and giving hugs
A stack of last weeks mail to read
So where's the quiet time I need?
Yet when I steal a minute, Lord
Just at the sink or ironing board
To ask the blessings of Your grace
I see then, in my small one's face
That you have blessed me
All the while
And I stop to kiss
That precious smile

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO YOU!

Truly,
Amber
